Our Mission

To be a positive force in the area, providing support and funding to aid the organizations and services that act as advocates and caregivers for the abused, neglected and abandoned children in our area.

We Support Advocates for Children

Advocates for Children started in 1984 by a group of attorneys in Panama City. They recognized the tremendous need to provide physical and social resources for children when such needs could not be met through existing agencies. They believed these kids, most of whom have lived with more trauma than can be imagined, should be able to have access to the childhood activities other children participate in, and to lead a life as normal as possible.

Today, the Board of Directors remain committed to the organization's original charter and, through fundraising programs and events, supply such things as seasonally - appropriate clothing, dental care, school supplies, and dues for scouting programs. Funding is also used to support the volunteers with travel and training expenses.

We Support Guardian ad Litem

All children deserve a safe, permanent home with loving people to care for them. Over 500,000 of the millions of abused, neglected or abandoned children in the United States are removed from their homes and placed in foster care. Eventually, they end up in court, where many are victimized a second time, lost in an over- burdened child welfare system.

Guardians ad Litem are volunteers trained to speak up for the best interests of these children. They are appointed by a, judge to review records, research information and talk to everyone involved in a child's case. They make recommendations as to what is best for the' child and monitor the case, making sure the child remains safe until a permanent resolution is reached. Help a child find their way. No experience is required. Call (850) 747-5180 today to learn how to become a Guardian.
