                            | TOURNAMENT HIGHLIGHTSThe 2001 Jeff Berberich Memorial Invitational Golf Tournament was once again a huge success drawing over 136 participants to beautiful Panama City Beach Florida. The weather was perfect and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. The tournament raised over $35,000 for the Advocates for Children. The Berberich family was very pleased with the results of the event. The weather was perfect for the entire weekend. The course was in great shape, and as usual the boat ride on Carl Anderson's Glass Bottom Boat was "special" a great number of participants enjoyed a great ride, a beautiful sunset and excellent food prepared by Applebee's Panama City Beach Restaurant and plenty of Budwiser. Once again we had our presenting sponsor (Emerald Coast Bank) and our first new platinum sponsor, Panama City Toyota. "We were very happy to add our first Platinum sponsor and we are still trying to get three more platinum sponsors", Chuck Berberich Sr. (Tournament Director) says.
The tournament was an eighteen hole scramble event on Saturday and Sunday, which included special events, closest to the line with drive, closest to pin on par 3's, Sunday a hole in one on hole #3 had a chance to win a new Buick. Unfortunately, no one drove home with the new car! Coca Cola sponsored a closest to the pin for hole #13. Everyone went home with a great prize after the steak cookout prepared by the Hombre Staff. The food and service was once again "First Class!" Our thanks goes to the Hombre and all the staff for helping make this a special event!
